CampTIE is a brand in its early stages of development that markets gifts and apparel all paying homage to California places and events that have closed, either to the test of time or closures from the COVID-19 pandemic. Standing for “Camp Taking It Easy”, the identity is focused around taking memories made in and around the Bay Area to create nostalgic products that embrace a marriage of retro and modern design sensibilities. My client and I researched the history of each place to inspire the direction of each design, and often used personal memories in the process, taking inspiration from signage, ticket stubs, and retouching old logos.
